Hot weather can cause heat-related illnesses ranging in severity from relatively mild heat cramps to life-threatening heat stroke. Among weather-related events, periods of extremely hot weather, known as heat waves, are a leading cause of death. The Coachella Valley is a heat magnet during the summer months - as we all well know. Join Amanda Rittenberg, MD, Family Medicine Associate Physician, for answers to your questions about hot weather, heat-related illnesses, sun protection, hydration, and nutrition, and how to safely cope with these conditions.
