Better Understanding Heart Disease in Women Through Two Patients' Experiences

  • Annenberg Health Sciences Building
  • 05/08/2025
  • From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Heart disease affects men and women differently. While men generally experience earlier onset and more classic symptoms, women may have atypical symptoms, face higher risk of heart failure and potentially experience delayed or less aggressive treatment. Join Carolyn Warner and Liz Young as they share their personal experiences as women with heart disease. Carolyn Warner has had many heart issues and early on presented with symptoms not often recognized in women. Her experience led her to become a spokesperson for and still an actively participating in WomanHeart, the leading organization for women living with heart disease. Liz Young was born with heart disease. Despite a lifetime of treatment to manage her heart disease, she has an amazing, positive attitude. Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this open discussion about the risk factors for women, atypical symptoms and potential delays in treatment with two women who have the experience of living with heart disease.

Attend in-person at the Annenberg Health Sciences Building, which will be immediately followed by the monthly meeting of Mended Hearts of the Coachella Valley, or virtually.
