
Timothy Moore
Tim Moore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a clinical therapist with Eisenhower Behavioral Health. He completed his master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to his master’s work, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of New York at Buffalo.
Between his undergraduate and graduate work, Mr. Moore worked at McLean Psychiatric Hospital – affiliated with Harvard Medical School – which began his interest in psychiatric work. After completing his master’s degree in socialwork,Timhas servedinseveralhealth organizations in the medical social work arena including The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. With significant experience in oncology and HIV/AIDS, Mr. Moore has special clinical interests and experience in dual diagnosis, such as HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. “Treating patients with multiple conditions is both challenging and gratifying,” states Mr. Moore.
Mr. Moore’s approach to patient care stems from the clinical cognitive behavioral approach to therapy. “Simply, the cognitive behavioral approach to therapy is getting the patient to understand the relationship between one’s thought process and behavior. What you think about yourself and your environment affects how you behave. I teach patients how to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts and thus change the undesired behavior. I like this approach to psychotherapy as it is pragmatic and understandable for the patient,“ states Mr. Moore.
