  • Stay Active and Healthy with Eisenhower Health

Injuries and pain can quickly put a halt to your active lifestyle, whether you're a dedicated runner or an occasional yoga enthusiast. Fortunately, Eisenhower Health is here to help you get back to the activities you love.

The Eisenhower Sports Medicine Clinic is a non-operative orthopedics clinic seeing patients with any musculoskeletal condition or injury - not just sports-related ones. Seeing a Sports Medicine specialist allows for early, minimally invasive intervention that can prevent or delay the need for surgery.

The Eisenhower Sports Medicine Clinic utilizes the most up-to-date diagnostic tools and evidence-based treatment modalities to not only relieve discomfort, but also assist in the healing process for long-term relief.

In another episode of the Living Well podcast, Board Certified, fellowship-trained Sports Medicine specialist Rajiv H. Tailor, MD, notes that the Clinic sees a great variety of concerns, including ankle sprains, joint injuries, dislocations, non-surgical fractures (like stress fractures) and rotator cuff issues. • A Breast Cancer Survivor Pays It Forward

Sherri Geschwind was diagnosed with a recurrence of her breast cancer in 2022 and had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy (surgical removal of both breasts).

"My surgeon explained that I'd have drains coming out of the surgical sites for up to three weeks post-op," she relates. "So I went online and found a shirt that buttoned up the front and had pockets inside to accommodate the drains." The traditional solution in this situation is to pin the drains to the patient's bra, which is difficult because patients are unable to lift their arms for at least a month after surgery. She also found a lanyard to accommodate the drains when showering.
