Jenan Shukry, MD, is Board Certified in neurology and vascular neurology, seeing patients in Rancho Mirage. After earning an undergraduate degree at University of California, Los Angeles, she earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. She then attended medical school at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, and went on to complete a residency in neurology at University of Chicago Medical Center, followed up with a fellowship program in vascular Neurology at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Shukry sees patients with all types of neurological conditions, but specializes in treatments for stroke/TIA, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, cerebrovascular malformations, headaches, dementia, seizures, radiculopathies and neuropathies.
Growing up in the Coachella Valley, Dr. Shukry was always interested in the sciences. "I have a younger sister with special needs and was exposed to the medical field growing up," stated Dr. Shukry. "Because of this experience, I was always interested in the brain - how it works and affects overall health." She tried to keep an open mind while in medical school and internship, but always came back to neurology and the neurosciences.
Dr. Shukry aims to treat her patients like family members. "My role is to help patients understand their diagnosis and to provide them with the best ways to treat their condition," states Dr. Shukry. "I am inclusionary and encourage family members involvement and strive for an open dialogue. We are all on the same team, with the same goal."
