Mira Salama, DO, Board Certified in Family Medicine, is seeing patients in Palm Springs. After completing medical school, Dr. Salama finished her residency in family medicine at Eisenhower Health, serving as Chief Family Medicine Associate Physician, and has now joined Eisenhower Health's medical staff as a primary care physician.

Growing up with a chronic medical condition, Dr. Salama had first-hand experience with physicians - both good and bad - and became interested in pursuing medicine as a career.  "I saw the impact a physician can make on an individual in multiple aspects of their everyday life," says Dr. Salama.

"I always was interested in being involved with the diagnosis and treating of all medical issues, which made primary care the specialty that best suited me," explains Dr. Salama.  She treats her patients with empathy, always trying to understand their perspective. "It's important to listen ... I aim to be whole-patient focused versus solely treating a medical condition. Because I may be involved with my patients for a long time, understanding their family dynamic and lifestyle is important in addressing any medical challenge."
