Chai L. Arnold, MD

Chai Arnold, MD, is a primary care physician seeing patients at the Eisenhower Health Center -  North Palm Desert. Dr. Arnold earned his undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and obtained his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency program in family medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine and served as Chief Resident in his final year.

Raised in the Coachella Valley, Dr. Arnold always intended to return to practice medicine in his 'hometown'. He loves this community and is passionate about giving back to the desert. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Arnold is also a faculty member for the Eisenhower Health Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Arnold is half-Hispanic and a fluent Spanish speaker.

While growing up, many of his family members dealt with health issues, exposing Dr. Arnold to the medical field from a unique perspective. "I gravitated toward sciences and was always interested in health and medicine, especially seeing my family members receive care and treatment while I was younger," he states. "I liked the versatility that family medicine brings in terms of being able to care for patients of any age and stage in life. Additionally, the chance to form long-term relationships with patients made specializing in family medicine an easy decision."

"Most of my job is listening and developing relationships with patients - they need to feel comfortable in order to be honest and frank about their medical issues. As a family doctor, we are tasked with providing evidence-based medicine and also pairing that with a patient's lifestyle needs and goals, finding that unique balance for each patient."

In his free time, Dr. Arnold loves watching and playing sports - particularly soccer, which is a huge part of his life. He loves socializing and spending time with his friends, family and his two cats. Dr. Arnold also runs a small family non-profit whose mission is to support youth athletics and education in the Coachella Valley.
