Mr. Wang was born in China and became interested in medicine at an early age. His grandfather practiced traditional Chinese medicine, which always intrigued him. He received a medical degree from Weifang Medical University and was a cardiothoracic surgeon at a state hospital in China for many years.
He relocated to the United States more than 30 years ago, and initially was a research assistant that the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He then decided he wanted to return to practicing medicine. He passed the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination and received Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates Certification. Because of residency limitations and being unable to practice medicine in the U.S., Mr. Wang started over and pursued nursing. He earned a master's degree in Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate, as well as a master's degree in Preventive Medicine and Community Health.
Mr. Wang has been working in the medical field since the 1980s. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a physician in China, a nurse practitioner in a private internal medicine clinic, an inpatient nurse at ICU/cardiovascular/neurology at Eisenhower Health, a nurse manager at a skilled nursing facility, as well as conducting medical research in medical science.
