Jamie DeVito, MD, is a Board Certified Dermatologist practicing medical and surgical dermatology, seeing patients at the Eisenhower Dermatology Center in Palm Springs. Dr. DeVito received her medical degree and Master of Health Administration from Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed a dermatology residency program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell University Medical College) in New York.
Dr. DeVito knew from a young age she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. She always thought that the human body was so intriguing and wanted to understand how it worked.
Dr. DeVito’s initial intentions were to become a primary care physician specializing in infectious disease. However, an elective in dermatology changed that path. That experience persuaded her to pursue this specialty instead. Early in her career, Dr. DeVito gained experience with cosmetic dermatology and was involved with the beginnings of laser treatment. “I moved to general dermatology because many of my patients were dealing with medical dermatology issues and I felt that my skills were better used that way,” states Dr. DeVito. In her practice she treats skin cancers, mole removal, rashes, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis as well as performing skin biopsies.
“I treat my patients like I would take care of my own family,” comments Dr. DeVito. “I strive to gain the trust of my patients, with the hope that they will follow the best treatment plan possible. I listen to my patients to understand their lifestyle to make recommendations that will suit their way of living. Dermatology allows me to establish long-term relationships with patients, which I find very satisfying.”
