Chandima Ratnayake, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and sees patients at the Eisenhower Health Center at Cathedral City - South. Dr. Ratnayake is welcoming and experienced in caring for all patients 10 years of age or older. He has been a primary care physician for more than 13 years, most recently in western Riverside County. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Ratnayake completed a residency program in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center.
As a child, Dr. Ratnayake had family members with medical issues and observed with interest their dealings with illness and treatment. Coupled with his interest in science, pursuing medical school was a natural path for him. While in medical school, Dr. Ratnayake decided to become a primary care physician as it afforded him with a broad perspective in practicing medicine as well as establishing long-term relationships with patients. “Family Medicine has been my passion for some time as it allows me to touch all areas of medicine as well as giving me the opportunity to establish relationships with my patient over many years of interaction,” states Dr. Ratnayake.
“I don’t see my patients as a ‘diagnosis’, but rather treat the whole person. I want and need to understand each person’s lifestyle, interests and preferences so I can appropriately integrate treatment and help my patients live their best possible life,” reflects Dr. Ratnayake.
