- Internal Medicine
Reema Khurram, MD, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is an Eisenhower Primary Care 365 Primary Care physician seeing patients at the Plaza del Sol Health Center in Palm Springs and in La Quinta at the Eisenhower George and Julia Argyros Health Center.
Dr. Khurram completed her residency program at Capitol Health System in Trenton, New Jersey. Additionally, she has had one year of fellowship training in hematology and oncology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Khurram has served as an outpatient internal medicine primary care physician with Owatonna Clinic/Mayo Health in Minnesota and most recently with Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Arizona.
While growing up, Dr. Khurram excelled in her studies – especially mathematics, and had decided to become an engineer. However, through her mother’s influence she ultimately pursued medicine as a career. After medical school, Dr. Khurram was accepted to a fellowship program in hematology and oncology, but after a year of study, she decided that primary care would be a better fit for her interests. “I discovered that I really enjoyed the broad-base of medicine that primary care offers as opposed to the subspecialty of hematology/oncology.”
She enjoys long-term relationships with her patients and offers a genuine interest in hearing about her patients’ lives and families. “I seek to understand my patients’ life-style issues and concerns with a goal of helping them address any chronic medical issues they may be facing,” states Dr. Khurram. “Since I have the privilege of seeing my patients routinely, I can educate them over time about how to meet the challenges of medical concerns they face.”
