David Spiggle, MD is Board Certified in both adult psychiatry and addiction medicine, seeing patients in Rancho Mirage at the Eisenhower Behavioral Health Clinic.

Dr. Spiggle completed his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky.  He completed his residency training at Boston University School of Medicine, MA, and a fellowship program at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.

Influenced by an uncle who was a physician, Dr. Spiggle was always interested in how the body works. He initially attended veterinarian school, but after a year he decided that wasn’t what he wanted to pursue for his life vocation and applied and was accepted to medical school. Initially, he was aiming to be a primary care physician, but found during his training that behavioral health was what he was most interested. “I found the psyche to be very complex and intriguing,” states Dr. Spiggle. “Our physical well-being is very tied to our mental health.”

Dr. Spiggle seeks strategies together with his patients that help them feel better in the present, such as establishing behaviors of gratitude, compassion for others and themselves, altruism, and other positive focusing behaviors.
