Kathleen S. Wheeler, NP

Kathleen Wheeler is a nurse practitioner providing Urgent Care services at one of the three Eisenhower Health Urgent Care locations. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) at The California Consortium at Long Beach State University, Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) and Family Practice Certification (FNP) at the University of Phoenix, CA and her Doctor of Nurse Practice Degree  (DNP) at the University of Alabama. Dr. Wheeler also specializes in Urgent Care completing post graduate Urgent/Emergent studies at the University of San Diego. 

Dr. Wheeler avidly promotes the importance of transformational leadership in both the management and clinical leadership. She was instrumental in the development and initiation of the Eisenhower Health Advanced Practice Council and has also published: The Effects of a Transformational Nursing Leadership Program on Perceived Leadership Behaviors. 

Dr. Wheeler's clinical focus is to provide comprehensive and cost-effective health care to a diverse population. She practices using the tools of system leadership to influence and promote evidence-based practice, utilize information technology, promote health care policy and advocate for increased professional collaboration across the disciplines of health care.
