Heart Failure Clinic
The Eisenhower Glickman Heart Failure Clinic is the only heart failure clinic in the desert. Congestive heart failure (CHF) can occur following damage to the heart caused by a heart attack, viral infection or other illness. The heart is then unable to pump enough blood to supply the body's needs. Patients may feel more tired than usual, or experience shortness of breath and/or an irregular heartbeat. The Glickman Heart Failure Clinic can help patients with CHF live comfortable and productive lives.
Eisenhower Medical Center's Glickman Heart Failure Clinic is the first specialized congestive heart failure (CHF) treatment facility in the Coachella Valley dedicated to helping patients with CHF live comfortable and productive lives. Located at the Renker Wellness Center in the Hal B. Wallis Building on the Eisenhower campus, the Clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, nutritionists and psychologists. These highly skilled professionals work closely with each patient to design an individualized treatment plan involving medications, diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications. Intensive patient and family education is emphasized regarding the signs and symptoms of worsening heart failure. Outpatient treatment and monitoring at the Clinic can often help patients with heart failure to avoid frequent hospitalizations and visits to the emergency department.
