Description
Summary
Patients with a planned laparoscopic gastric surgery are candidates for this study of the 52 Fr ViSiGi LUX. During certain laparoscopic gastric surgical procedures, a tube may be passed through a patient's mouth into their stomach and is connected to suction to empty the contents of the stomach. This tube then allows the surgeon to determine the size of the patient's esophagus and stomach. The device being investigated in this study is an update to ViSiGi LUX that is currently used in thousands of procedures each year. This new investigational ViSiGi LUX, called 52 Fr ViSiGi LUX, has near infrared lights that emit specific light that can be seen on the robotic camera that the surgeon will use to see inside the abdomen during the procedure. These lights allow the surgeon to clearly see through the stomach tissue to decide where to place the ViSiGi LUX. This new device has a larger diameter than ViSiGi LUX equivalent to weighted bougies normally used in certain gastric procedures. There will be 10 subjects enrolled in this study.Official Title
