Joint Replacement Program
Total joint replacement or total joint arthroplasty has rapidly become a very common procedure in the treatment of painful and limiting joints. Total joint replacements are performed on almost any joint in the body with the most common being the hip and knee joints. Integral to the success of any joint replacement is the rehabilitation both preceding (education) and following the procedure.
Eisenhower employs therapists who are specially trained to utilize various treatment procedures, depending on each patient’s unique needs, to maximize range of motion, strength, and functional abilities, with a minimal amount of pain, following a joint replacement.
Beginning with pre-joint replacement strengthening and education, and progressing through the inpatient stay and outpatient therapy, the Rehabilitation Services department has an active, comprehensive joint replacement program. Utilizing a function based therapy program, each patient is assessed and treated based on their individual needs.
How to Get Started
A physician's prescription with a diagnosis is required. An initial appointment can be made by calling or walking in to the department. If faxing the prescription, please include the patient's telephone number so that an appointment may be scheduled. Following the initial evaluation by a licensed therapist, additional appointments will be made based on medical necessity. Treatment at Eisenhower Health's Rehabilitation Services Department is covered by most insurance providers.

The Joint Replacement Program at Eisenhower is offered in the Dolores Hope Building, the La Quinta Physical and Occupational Therapy Center, and the Palm Springs Physical Therapy Center.
