Lakimerly M. Coates, MD

LaKimerly Coates, MD, is Board Certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatology Surgery. She provides medical dermatology expertise to patients at Eisenhower Dermatology Center in Rancho Mirage.

After earning her medical degree, Dr. Coates completed a one-year residency in internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and then completed a three-year residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

"Over the years, I have been with people affected by various skin disorders. From a friend in elementary school suffered from atopic dermatitis to during my OB/GYN rotation with a patient who had metastatic melanoma - I found myself drawn to that specialty."

Regarding care for her patients, Dr. Coates comments, "I take care of my patients as I would a family member." Using a holistic preventive approach to dermatology, along with medical treatments, she often underscores rest, hydration and sunscreen as part of a preventive treatment plan. "The best outcomes are achieved through collaboration between the patient and our care team."
