Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. More people die from lung cancer than from colon, breast and prostate cancers combined.

Lung cancer mainly occurs in older people, smokers and non-smokers, with the average age of 70 when diagnosed. On a positive note, the number of deaths from lung cancer continues to decline due to fewer people smoking and advances in early detection and treatment.

This exciting technology revolutionizes robotic bronchoscopy. It goes beyond diagnostics, allowing safe exploration of every part of the lung. Moreover, it paves the way for exciting therapeutic uses, including ablation techniques, injecting pharmacologics into lung tumors, and marking small tumors for surgical removal to preserve lung function. It’s a significant step towards more minimally invasive lung cancer treatment.
