Ostomy Facts: Skip the Stigma

People of all ages have life-saving ostomy surgery for a wide variety of reasons and most go on to live active and healthy lives. Ostomy surgery is a life-saving procedure that allows bodily waste to pass through a surgically created stoma on the abdomen into an 'ostomy bag' on the outside of the abdomen. Join Iyoob Ilyas, MD, Board Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery, for information about colon and rectal surgery and living with an ostomy. Dr. Ilyas will answer questions from those with ostomies and their family and caregivers.
