Quality and Patient Safety
Eisenhower Health is committed to delivering the highest quality, safest care to every patient as we work toward our goal of zero preventable harm. Thank you for partnering with us to create a safe, supportive and positive experience throughout your care.
Six Aims of Quality Care
Eisenhower has embraced the six aims for quality improvement as identified by the Institute of Medicine. In today's health care delivery system we believe that health care should be (1) safe; (2) effective; (3) patient-centered; (4) timely; (5) efficient; and (6) equitable.
- Safe care means preventing unintended injuries to patients while receiving care that is intended to help them.
- Effective care means that services provided to patients are appropriate and based on scientific knowledge.
- Patient-centered care means providing care that respects the patient's individual preferences, needs and values.
- Timely care means preventing unnecessary wait times or delays for patients and the caregivers.
- Efficient care means avoiding wasteful use of equipment, supplies, or resources.
- Equitable care means providing care that does not vary in quality because of personal characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. At Eisenhower, we are committed to providing everyone with quality health care in a healing environment.
