QUANTAM CARDIOPULMONARY BYPASS MACHINE

GOAL: $250,000

the impact on HEART SURGERY

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, killing 314,186 women in 2020 — or about one in every five female deaths.

Eisenhower cardiothoracic surgeons perform over 300 surgical cases annually using a cardiopulmonary bypass machine – including, but not limited to, coronary artery bypass and heart valve repair/replacement procedures, and thoracic aneurysm, heart tumor, arrhythmia and congenital heart disease surgeries.

What is a cardiopulmonary bypass machine?

The cardiopulmonary bypass machine also known as the ’heart-lung machine’ takes over the function of the heart and lungs during a major cardiac surgery procedure. It is the patient’s heart and lungs during a surgery and adds oxygen to the blood, removes carbon dioxide from the blood and perfuses the body’s vital organs while surgeons open the heart to perform technically challenging operations.

This state-of-the-art equipment will save lives right here where you live.

Whose life will we save – your neighbor’s, your friend’s, yours?

Circle of Stars provides women with a way to have a personal partnership with Eisenhower Health. Hearing the need from the doctor and learning the impact a piece of equipment can have on our patients, inspires them to make itĀ happen!
