Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. More people die from lung cancer than from colon, breast and prostate cancers combined.

Your efforts to help change that statistic by helping to fund the ION Robotic Bronchoscopy Platform last season had an overwhelming impact on our patients in their diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

In the first six months, 200 procedures were performed using the ION Platforms – more than half of those patients were found to have cancer.

Circle of Stars: Expanding Impact with Robotic Bronchoscopy
This season, we’re funding two additional ION Robotic Bronchoscopy Platforms
at Eisenhower Health to bring life-saving care to more patients, faster.

Why This Matters
With two robots in adjacent rooms, Dr. Justin Thomas can seamlessly move between surgeries without delay, reducing biopsy wait times from four weeks to just two. For cancer patients, this time is critical. The expanded capacity doubles the number of patients Dr. Thomas can treat each day.

Enhanced Surgical Precision
The third robot enables innovative procedures, allowing for diagnosis and treatment of early-stage lung cancer in a single session.
