U.S. News & World Report Names Eisenhower Health Among Best Hospitals for 2025-2026 in California
Eisenhower Health has been named by U.S. News & World Report a 2025-2026 Best Hospital. The hospital tied for number two in the Inland Empire among U.S. News' latest edition of Best Hospitals. This year, U.S. News announced 504 Best Regional Hospitals across 49 states and 95 metro areas that have demonstrated superior outcomes, ranking Eisenhower Health #19 in California."It is an honor to once again be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best regional hospitals in the nation and to be ranked among the top 20 hospitals in California," says Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer, Eisenhower Health. "This distinction reflects the commitment of our physicians, nurses and staff to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to the communities we serve."
Eisenhower Health Included in Forbes America's Best-In-State Employers 2025 List Ranks in Top 15 for California
Eisenhower Health has been awarded a spot on the Forbes list of America's Best-In-State Employers 2025. This prestigious award is presented in collaboration with Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The award list was announced on August 21, 2025, and can be viewed on the Forbes website.
Forbes and Statista selected America's Best-In-State Employers 2025 through an independent survey from a vast sample of over 160,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. Over 2 million employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on two types of employee evaluations: personal (those given by employees themselves) and public (those given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry). In the Classroom
Renker Wellness Center's cooking school serves up health lessonsWalking into the Renker Wellness Center, one will see many of the same elements of a standard workout facility - lockers, top-of-the-line exercise equipment and a private, mirrored room for exercise classes. There's one room tucked into the corner of the facility, however, that isn't like most: a classroom with instructional seats facing a flat screen strategically overlooking a beautiful kitchen island. Fully-equipped with a full-size refrigerator, sinks and a plethora of cooking utensils, the cooking school is as integral to the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation course as its exercise equipment counterparts.
When Renker Wellness Center patients diagnosed with heart or lung disease begin the course, they participate in three pillars of the program to return to productive, active lifestyles: exercise, nutrition and a healthy mindset. Participants usually have 36 visits over 12 weeks, and the course is offered year-round.
"Nutrition is such an important piece to cardiovascular health. You need to change the way you are eating as well as your lifestyle in order to reduce cardiovascular disease and improve it long-term," says Sonia Rios, BSN, RN, Manager, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Renker Wellness Center.
Visit with a Volunteer
Invaluable. Indispensable. Inspiring. These are just some of the words that describe the role volunteers play in Eisenhower Health's day-to-day operations and long-term viability.Meet Vandy Frost
It's no surprise that Vandy Frost, 69, found her way to the Eisenhower Health volunteer program.A retired educational psychologist who grew up in a large family and then raised several children over the years, her life has always centered on helping others.
Her original plan - almost 10 years ago and before the Eisenhower Family Birth Center - was to volunteer in pediatrics. Because that wasn't an option at the time, Vandy started in the errand room and then requested training in other areas around the hospital.
Vandy is scheduled two days a week and then picks up shifts when needed. She is trained in volunteering with the intensive care units, Birth Center, Pediatric ICU, surgery waiting, Tennity Emergency Department and more recently, at Collectors Corner.
LIGHTS, PROJECTORS, ACTION!
Travel to 1920s and '30s with a visit to Downtown L.A.'s theaters"They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway.
They say there's always magic in the air."The songwriters of the The Drifters' 1963 hit record "On Broadway" were thinking of New York City, but there's another Broadway Theater District in the U.S. - also deservedly famous and at one time no less glamorous.
From 1900 to the late 1940s, Broadway was the main commercial thoroughfare in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Nearly 20 opulent theaters lined Broadway and nearby streets. Most were initially built for vaudeville and live stage acts, the dominant entertainment in the 1920s.
Then, film captured the public's imagination and, pre-World War II, DTLA claimed the title of movie capital of the world.
Today, 12 once-lavish movie palaces built from 1911 to 1931 remain in the Broadway Theater and Commercial District, stretching for six blocks from Third to Ninth streets - the first and largest theater district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Some have been restored to their original glory and operate as theaters or special event venues; others are retail stores. A few remain waiting for a new dreamer to transform them.
