Visit with a Volunteer

Invaluable. Indispensable. Inspiring. These are just some of the words that describe the role volunteers play in Eisenhower Health’s day-to-day operations and long-term viability.

Meet Camille Davidson

Camille Davidson is no stranger to customer service. As a former pharmacy technician and after a 23-year career in the U.S. Air Force, she is a pro at working with people and a variety of situations.

When Camille reached out to Eisenhower Health to volunteer, the Ambassador program was a perfect fit.

Joining the program earlier this year, each Wednesday morning Camille, 81, collects her roster and begins her shift.

“I visit all the patients who have recently been admitted to make sure all their needs are being met and that they’re happy and satisfied with the level of care they are receiving,” explains Camille.

“I always wish them a very satisfactory and short visit.”

Camille covers the north and south end of the third floor each shift. Patient load varies from day to day. One day it could be five, the next 15. She arrives ready to greet each patient and will stay as long as she needs to get the job done.

The patients like it because the volunteers are sharing an interest in their welfare, she explains. For Camille, it’s also been a great experience.

“I like all the volunteers,” she says. “I really enjoy it.”

“I appreciate Eisenhower and it’s absolutely No. 1,” says Camille.
