Eisenhower Health Achieves Elite National Status as a 'Straight A' Hospital for Patient Safety

Nine consecutive ‘A’ grades demonstrate Eisenhower Health’s dedication to patient safety

Eisenhower Health has once again earned an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, marking nine consecutive A ratings - a distinction that places Eisenhower among an elite 12% of hospitals nationwide recognized as ‘Straight A’ hospitals.

This recognition underscores Eisenhower Health’s unwavering commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and transparency. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only national rating focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, injuries, and infections that can lead to harm or death. Grades are issued twice annually following rigorous review of more than 30 evidence-based performance measures.

“Receiving a ninth consecutive A is not only a reflection of our systems and safety protocols - it’s a reflection of our people,” says Eric Leroux, MD, MBA, Vice President and Quality Officer, Eisenhower Health. “Every member of our team, from bedside nurses to environmental services, plays an essential role in creating a culture of safety where patients can trust they’re receiving the highest level of care.”

Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, praises Eisenhower’s consistent achievement. “My sincere congratulations to Eisenhower Health for upholding patient safety standards through thick and thin, achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for nine consecutive rounds,” Binder says. “Consistently earning an A demonstrates a long-term, organization-wide commitment to putting patient safety first.”
