Published every two years by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the Healthcare Equality Index is the nations leading benchmarking survey evaluating policies and practices related to the equitable treatment and inclusion of LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees.
In the 2026 report, nearly 750 health care facilities participated nationwide. Of those surveyed, 46% earned the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer designation, while 44% received the Healthcare Equality Leader designation.
