Mark L. Gaertner, MD

Mark Gaertner, MD, is Board Certified in Neurology and fellowship-trained in Clinical Neurophysiology, seeing patients at the Eisenhower Health Center at South Palm Canyon in Palm Springs. He has special fellowship training in epilepsy and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring.  Dr. Gaertner completed his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and neurology residency and fellowships at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has clinical experience in inpatient neurology, acute stroke, epilepsy and neurophysiological diagnostics.

Prior to his current role at Eisenhower Health, Dr. Gaertner held teaching and leadership positions at Olive View - UCLA Medical Center, including Director of Inpatient Neurological Services and Residency Site Program Director, where he provided mentorship and structured education for neurology residents, internal medicine residents, stroke fellows and medical students.

His academic work reflects an active engagement with clinical research. Dr. Gaertner has collaborated on studies evaluating cardiovascular risk in people with epilepsy, contributing to efforts that integrate neurologic care with overall health outcomes. He continues to actively engage in clinical research and clinical trial development.
