    Hansel Ihn, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgical treatment of sports injuries. Dr. Ihn was raised in La Crescenta, California. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and obtained his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Los Angeles General Medical Center and Keck Hospital of USC. Dr. Ihn continued his training with a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Utah. During his fellowship, Dr. Ihn served as an Assistant NBA Team Physician for the Utah Jazz and Assistant Team Physician for the University of Utah Utes (NCAA Div. 1 football and basketball). 
                  
    Dr. Ihn's shoulder practice includes arthroscopic rotator cuff tendon repair, arthroscopic and open shoulder stabilization, and fracture fixation. His hip practice includes hip arthroscopy, labral repair and reconstruction, capsule repair and reconstruction, cartilage restoration, gluteal tendon repairs, proximal hamstring repairs, and fracture fixation. His knee practice includes ligamentous repair and reconstruction, anterolateral stabilization with ALL or LET reconstruction, patellar stabilization, periarticular osteotomies, meniscal repairs and transplants, cartilage repair, and fracture fixation. 
                   
    Dr. Ihn has presented and published numerous scientific articles throughout his career. His research interests includes biomechanics, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), ligamentous injury, and management of rotator cuff tears.
