John P. Einck, MD
Specialties
- Radiation Oncology
Dr. Einck has been practicing radiation oncology for over 20 years and has extensive experience in advanced treatment techniques including brachytherapy, proton therapy as well as conventional radiation treatments and has published extensively on the use of radiation therapy as a treatment option. He specializes in the radiation treatment of prostate, breast, gynecologic and GI cancers as well as soft tissue and bone sarcomas.
His treatment philosophy is that cancer care requires a team with the patient as the captain. He can advise and educate and perform whatever treatment the patient decides but ultimately the patient is the boss. He also believes in individualizing treatment for what is right for the cancer and fits the patients' own goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Outside of work, Dr. Einck performs volunteer work for organizations like Radiating Hope, a charitable venture that provides radiation therapy equipment and education to clinics in the developing world and serves on its board of directors. He has performed on-site training and education in clinics all over Africa and Asia. He also enjoys travel, cooking, learning foreign languages including Spanish and Portuguese and spending time with his family.
