Xolani Mdluli, MD received his medical degree from St. George's University. He completed his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Jersey City program. Upon completion of residency and certification in Internal Medicine Boards, Dr. Mdluli served as a Hospitalist physician for four years at San Joaquin Pulmonary Medical Group in Bakersfield, California.  He then pursued and completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease at Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Illinois, where he was named graduating Fellow of the Year in 2013.

Born and raised in Swaziland, Africa, Dr. Mdluli saw first hand the HIV/AIDS epidemic unfold and ravage his homeland. When his family moved to the United States during his late teen years, he knew he would pursue an education in medicine and focus on infectious diseases.

"Working as a hospitalist physician before I entered my fellowship program, helped me to better understand comprehensive patient care," states Dr. Mdluli.

With regard to patient care, Dr. Mdluli states, "As physicians, we work with people who are sick, often very sick. My patients are not just cases, they are individuals and I never forget that human element. My goal is to treat and relate to the whole person - often including their families - not just the disease."
