Clement C. Au, MD
Specialties
- Family Medicine
Clement Au, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and sees Eisenhower Primary Care 365 patients at the Eisenhower Health Center at North Palm Desert. Dr. Au received his medical degree at Temple University in Philadelphia and completed his residency program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, where he practiced medicine and served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine for more than 30 years.
Positively influenced by his older brother – who is a surgeon, Dr. Au relocated after high school from Hong Kong to attend college in the United States. While in medical school, Dr. Au decided that surgery wasn’t the specialty to pursue as he wanted to establish long-term relationships with patients. “The specialty of family medicine offers a diverse and varied approach to patient care,” states Dr. Au. “I enjoy the long-term relationships I build with patients and being able to manage health care for multiple generations in
families.” Dr. Au has a particular interest in working with geriatric patients with multiple medical issues.
The ability to provide quality continuity of care for his patients is one of the important aspects of being a primary care physician that Dr. Au is committed to providing.
“I am excited about being part of the Eisenhower Primary Care 365 program, as it allows me to spend more time with patients – it’s important to listen to patients, to understand not only their medical issues but their lifestyle and family dynamics. This allows for a holistic approach to patient care, as we develop goals and treatment plans toward wellness.”
