Bruce L. Ferguson, MD

Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Bruce Ferguson, MD, has over 23 years experience providing quality medical care to a diverse adult population. Dr. Ferguson completed his Bachelor of Arts at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois before attending medical school at Northwestern University School of Medicine. Dr. Ferguson completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Ferguson spent three years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine.

Always good in science, it was a high school biology teacher that encouraged Dr. Ferguson to become a physician. “My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was in my early teens; so much of my family dynamic was focused on treatment and health issues. That experience coupled with my affinity to the sciences made a pathway into medicine seem like a natural progression,” states Dr. Ferguson.

A strong believer in a team approach to health care, Dr. Ferguson sees his role in patient care as a listener, education and encourager to his patients. “I’m a good listener and find it very rewarding to help patients solve their health issues, diagnosing health concerns and recommending a course of action. But I recognize that I can only point patients toward wellness and healing — it’s their responsibility to do what needs to be done to live healthy lives,” states Dr. Ferguson.
