Norby C. Wang, MD
Specialties
- General Surgery
In addition to robotic surgeries, Dr. Wang maintains a busy surgical practice in breast cancer surgery, melanoma surgery, complex open repairs for large hernias, colon and bowel surgery, peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion, and acute care surgery. He believes in patient-centered care and working collaboratively to help patients achieve their health goals. "I do my best to listen to my patients and meet them where they are when it comes to their health issues. If I can help educate them on their condition, then I feel they can make the best decision for themselves about whether or not they want to go forward with having surgery, which is a big deal."
Since joining Eisenhower in 2017, Dr. Wang has been selected to be a leader in several roles. He has served as the Chair of the Robotic Steering Committee at Eisenhower since 2018. He served as the Medical Director of the Eisenhower General Surgery Specialty Clinic from2019 until 2025. He was also elected as the Section Chief of General Surgery at Eisenhower Health in 2020 and served a 4-year term. In addition to these leadership roles, he dedicates time in his practice to educating residents and medical students from UC San Diego, UC Riverside and Eisenhower Health.
Dr. Wang grew up in Southern California and completed his college and medical school education in Chicago. He trained in General Surgery as an intern, resident, and chief resident at Loyola University Medical Center from 2010 to 2015.
