Dr. Shandera is Board Certified in Urology, and has a subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPM-RS). His practice focus is on female/male voiding dysfunction, vaginal prolapse and female/male urinary incontinence. In addition, he practices general urology to include vasectomies, as well as surgery for kidney stones, varicoceles and enlarged prostates.
Dr. Shandera obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Additionally, he completed further training in female urology with Dr. Edward McGuire - a premier scholar on the topic - at The University of Texas Medical School in Houston.
Dr. Shandera proudly served in the military for 11 years, and was in private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina for 17 years. He values his patients, and enjoys working with them to maximize their urologic health.
