Supporting the LGBTQ Community
Eisenhower aims to provide compassionate, quality health care to all of our patients, including the LGBTQ+ community. Eisenhower has community partnerships with organizations like the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, actively participates in LGBTQ events throughout the year and has ongoing communication with Equality California, the L-Fund and other groups about our LGBTQ offerings to the community.
Eisenhower continues to deepen its clinical offerings to the LGBTQ community, by providing more physicians who specialize in LGBTQ care, including primary care physicians and specialists. Eisenhower has also expanded its education to physicians and staff through symposiums and webinars to broaden understanding of the specific needs of LGBTQ+ patients. LGBTQ+ friendly physicians can be found at Eisenhower Health Centers across the valley, including our multiple Palm Springs locations, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage and La Quinta.

Healthcare Equality Index
For the eighth consecutive year, Eisenhower Medical Center has been recognized in the Healthcare Equality Index, an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organization. As a Top Performer in the Healthcare Equality Index 2022, Eisenhower earned top marks for its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBTQ patients and their families, who can face significant challenges in securing adequate health care.
“We are proud to have been designated a Top Performer in the Healthcare Equality Index,” says Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer, Eisenhower Health. “Not only does the Top Performer recognition underscore our commitment to high quality, equitable and compassionate health care for everyone, but also demonstrates that we are a workplace which fosters diversity and inclusion.”
“The health care facilities participating in the HRC Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) are not only on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are also making it clear from their participation in the HEI that they stand on the side of fairness and are committed to providing inclusive care to their LGBTQ patients,” says HRC President Alphonso David. "We commend all of the HEI participants for their commitment to providing inclusive care for all.”
