Eisenhower Health is the Only Hospital in Riverside County
to Receive FIVE STARS in USA Government Rating System
Eisenhower Health received five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in its Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating. Less than 15 percent of hospitals nationwide received five stars.
According to Care Compare — CMS’s website, the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients. This information can help consumers make informed decisions about health care.
“To be ranked among the top 15 percent of hospitals in the United States is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff who deliver the very best in patient care each and every day,” says Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer, Eisenhower Health. “For 50 years, Eisenhower Health has remained committed to providing the safest, highest quality care to our community. To receive a five-star overall quality rating in the midst of a global pandemic underscores our commitment.”
The overall rating summarizes up to 57 quality measures reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia, as well as, measures that focus on hospital-acquired infections, including catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
The overall rating demonstrates how well each hospital performed, on average, as compared to other hospitals in the U.S. Hospital ratings range.
The methodology uses a statistical model known as a latent variable model. Five different latent variable models are used to calculate scores for give groups of measures including: Mortality; Safety of Care; Readmissions; Patient Experience; Timely and Effective Care.
