Eisenhower Health Adds to BAM Van Fleet Through Generous Donation by Palm Springs Motors

Thanks to a generous donation by Paul J. Thiel, owner of Palm Springs Motors, Eisenhower Health has added a beautiful new transportation vehicle to assist cancer patients getting to and from their radiation and chemotherapy treatments - patients who would otherwise need to utilize public transportation.

Inspired by BIGHORN Behind A Miracle’s late Founder Selby Dunham when she was undergoing radiation treatments, since 2017 Eisenhower Health’s fleet of BAM Vans have provided nearly 50,000 round trip rides - made possible through generous donations from Bighorn BAM supporters like Mr. Thiel and Palm Springs Motors. “The thought that a cancer patient in the Coachella Valley wouldn’t be able to get the treatment they need because of transportation didn’t sit well with me,” says Mr. Thiel. “Supporting local cancer patients through a wonderful organizations like Bighorn BAM and Eisenhower Health feels me with great pride.”

“We are so grateful for Mr. Thiel and Palm Springs Motors generous donation to Eisenhower’s fleet of BAM VANs,” says Katie Schnaser, MHA, FACHE, Chief Administrative Officer, Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center. “To offer vital transportation options to our cancer patients is an invaluable resource.”
