  • Eisenhower Health Earns Third Consecutive Magnet® Designation for Nursing Excellence

Only Coachella Valley Hospital to Earn Prestigious National Recognition

Eisenhower Health is proud to announce it has earned its third consecutive Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) - a prestigious recognition of excellence in nursing and outstanding patient care.

Magnet designation is considered the highest national honor for professional nursing practice, awarded to less than 10% of hospitals in the United States. Eisenhower Health first achieved Magnet recognition in 2015, and this third consecutive designation underscores the organization's ongoing commitment to quality, safety, innovation, and nursing leadership.

"Achieving a third Magnet designation is a remarkable accomplishment and a reflection of the extraordinary care, compassion, and professionalism of our nursing team," says Martin Massiello, President and Chief Executive Officer, Eisenhower Health. "We are incredibly proud of our nurses, whose dedication to excellence continues to positively impact the lives of our patients and their families every day."

  • Multiple Myeloma Treatment

Complete remission after collaboration in bone marrow transplant

For more than four decades, Feli Ramirez, 71, a decision support analyst at Eisenhower Health, has been an essential figure working behind the scenes in the health system. But in October 2019, she found herself in a new role - as a patient. During a routine visit, her gynecologist, Shakti Mahapatra, MD, noticed an abnormality in Ramirez's blood test results and referred her to Constantin Dasanu, MD, PhD, Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist and Director of Hematologic Malignancies at Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center.

Dr. Dasanu ordered a series of diagnostic tests, including serum protein electrophoresis (SPEP) and immunofixation electrophoresis - designed to separate and identify proteins in the blood - as well as a bone marrow biopsy.

    Collectors Corner

Clear Out the Closets and Give Back to Eisenhower and the Community

Whether it's time to clean out the house or redecorate, Collectors Corner is the perfect solution to give back to an organization that supports Coachella Valley residents.

"We're doing so well, we need help getting items in the store," says Dustin Heyborne, Manager of Collectors Corner for the last six years.

When he began the position, there were many items in storage. After a restructuring of the store and pricing, Collectors Corner is now in need of rebuilding its inventory.

In 2020, Heyborne made a commitment to donate $500,000 per year to the Eisenhower Health Dolores Hope Auxiliary, which operates the not-for-profit thrift store featuring collectibles, furniture and clothing. For four years in a row, Heyborne has hit that goal and he has no plans of slowing down.

So much so, this year he marked another milestone in his tenure at the store: January's and February's sales marked the store's best since 2005 (even more remarkable in comparison to two locations at that time).
