Russell Hisscock, DO
Specialties
- Family Medicine
Dr. Hisscock became interested in the field of medicine as young boy, having many friends whose parents were physicians. “I was good in math and science and was interested in helping others,” reflects Dr. Hisscock. “My first two years of college, I studied engineering, but decided it was not people-oriented enough and I knew that wasn’t the right path for me, so I switched to a Biology major with the intent on going to medical school.”
During his residency, Dr. Hisscock was exposed to family practice and loved the interaction with patients. “I gain great satisfaction in being able to see patients over a long period of time, understand their lives and see them again and again.” Dr. Hisscock strives to provide a team-like atmosphere with his patients. “My patients and I become a team; we identify the goal and work on a plan to meet that goal - listening is a key component to my approach with patients. Understanding a patient’s lifestyle, their frustrations and what brings joy to their lives is foundational to building a workable health and wellness plan.”
