His career has focused on outpatient community psychiatry, through which he has acquired extensive expertise in serious mood, anxiety, psychotic and addiction disorders.
In 2011, he started and subsequently directed the Center for TMS Therapy at the Mental Health Center of Denver. He is a recent transplant to the Coachella Valley, where he looks forward to developing and directing the new TMS therapy program at Eisenhower Medical Center in order to offer this important safe, new technology to those seeking to recover from major depression and other brain-based illnesses.
In reflecting upon his philosophy of patient care, Dr. Wagner states, “I have always found learning about the mind and brain to be endlessly captivating. Knowledge is power, and self- knowledge is the key to self-empowerment essential to reach one's full potential. I love sharing my scientific enthusiasm and medical expertise, in turn, by providing education and explanations to my patients and their families, helping them to understand the biological bases of their health challenges and of the treatment interventions I offer. In this way, the road to recovery is a road to continued personal growth and enhanced autonomy."
