Ashraf Zadshir, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is an HIV specialist. She is associate Professor at the school of medicine of St George’s University and assistant Professor at University of California Riverside School of Medicine.

Dr. Zadshir attended medical school in Dusseldorf, Germany. After relocating to the United States, she completed a residency program in family medicine at USC-California Medical Center in Los Angeles. While working at Borrego Health, she pursued and completed a fellowship program in HIV Medicine. She then founded and became Director of Graduate Medical Education for Borrego Health. She has practice medicine in Riverside County for over 12 years.

Along with seeing patients, Dr. Zadshir has always been a medical educator and part of a faculty teaching young physicians. She has been part of Eisenhower’s Center for Family Medicine, educating residents in various aspects of family medicine and primary care since the inception of Family Medicine Residency program in 2013.

As a researcher, Dr Zadshir has multiple publications in major accredited journals such as JAMA focusing on hypertension and chronic kidney disease.

In 2006, on the occasion of International Women's Day, Dr Zadshir was selected as Woman-of-the-Year by the Governor and the California Assembly in Sacramento, and she received the highly respected “Woman of the Year” Award for her dedication to people of California.

Growing up, there was never a question that Dr. Zadshir would become a physician. With many members of her family being doctors, she grew up seeing the positive things they accomplished in helping people regain their health and serving those in need. “During medical school, I was on track to become an internal medicine physician and in fact served as a hospitalist for few years,” states Dr. Zadshir.  Upon coming to the United States, she decided to pursue a family medicine residency as it was the broadest area of study possible, covering all ages.

Dr Zadshir is passionate about education and community services. She believes "Doctors are mental and physical healers and for that reason we need to have passion, courage and dedication to help those in need."
