Acute Inpatient Care
Inpatient acute care services are provided in our state-of-the-art acute care hospital located on the Rancho Mirage campus. Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services are provided 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
The Acute Inpatient Care area uses a multidisciplinary teamwork approach to provide patients with comprehensive therapy services in the hospital. Physical, Occupational and Speech therapists employ the latest evidence-based treatment and procedures to achieve the most optimal patient care outcomes.
Therapists holding specialty certifications including Certified Stroke Rehab Specialists (CSCR), Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS), Certified Hand Therapists (CHT), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) and Certified Vestibular Rehabilitation (CVR) therapists assure Eisenhower's services are the highest quality and utilize the latest evidence-based approaches in the care of the patient.
Each patient is evaluated and, based on their identified goals, activity levels, and functional limitations, an individualized treatment plan is established to reach the highest functional level possible. Both the patient and their family will learn to manage, minimize, or eliminate impairments that affect:
- Self-Care
- Mobility
- Communication
- Cognitive Skills
- Other activities of daily living (ADL's)
Inpatient care focuses on Eisenhower Health's four centers of excellence:
- Orthopedics
- Neuroscience
- Oncology
- Cardiovascular
While the goal is to discharge the patient to their living situation prior to admission to the acute care hospital, each patient will be assessed and recommendations will be made as to the appropriate discharge environment.
