Cardiology Services We Offer

  • Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is a test that uses ultrasound to show how your heart muscle and valves are working. The sound waves make moving pictures of your heart so your doctor can get a good look at its size and shape. You might hear this shortened as an "echo" or "echo test."
  • Stress Echocardiogram
A stress echocardiography, also called an echocardiography stress test or stress echo, is a procedure that determines how well your heart and blood vessels are working. During a stress echocardiography, you'll exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike while your doctor monitors your blood pressure and heart rhythm.
  • Dobutamine Stress Echo
A dobutamine stress echocardiogram (DSE) may be used if you are unable to exercise. Dobutamine is put in a vein and causes the heart to beat faster. It mimics the effects of exercise on the heart. During an echo, a transducer (like a microphone) sends out ultrasonic sound waves at a high frequency.
  • Exercise Stress Test
An exercise stress test is used to determine how well your heart responds during times when it's working its hardest. During the test, you'll be asked to exercise — typically on a treadmill — while you're hooked up to an electrocardiogram (EKG) machine. This allows your doctor to monitor your heart rate.
  • Holter Monitors
A Holter monitor is a small, battery-powered medical device that measures your heart's activity, such as rate and rhythm. Your doctor may ask you to use one if they need more information about how your heart functions than a routine electrocardiogram (EKG) can give them.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram records the electrical signals in your heart. It's a common and painless test used to quickly detect heart problems and monitor your heart's health. Electrocardiograms — also called ECGs or EKGs — are often done in a doctor's office, a clinic or a hospital room.
  • Lexiscan Stress Test
The lexiscan stress test involves injecting a medication called lexiscan into an IV while you are closely monitored. The medication makes the heart respond as if you are exercising. This test is used for people that are unable to exercise or can't exercise for very long.
  • Nuclear Imaging Stress Test
A nuclear stress test uses radioactive dye and an imaging machine to create pictures showing the blood flow to your heart. The test measures blood flow while you are at rest and are exerting yourself, showing areas with poor blood flow or damage in your heart.
