Orthopedics Sports Injury
Sports injuries, like sports, are a fact of life. At Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center, our sports medicine specialists treat a broad range of sports injuries from accidents, inadequate training, improper use of protective devices, or insufficient stretching or warm-up exercises.
The most common injuries are sprains and strains, fractures, and dislocations, but we also see our fair share of repetitive motion or stress injuries caused by the rotation or deformation of joints or muscles during movement. From prevention and diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation, our sports medicine experts provide a complete continuum of care for athletes of all ages and proficiency levels.

Getting Athletes Back in the Game
Sports medicine isn’t just for professional athletes, weekend warriors, or high school sports teams. Many of our patients get injured at home, or even in their own backyard. We also help improve mobility for chronic arthritis sufferers and sedentary or overweight people who need help initiating a safe exercise program. Whether a patient is a pro football player or a champion scrabble player with a bad knee, our team will do whatever it takes to get them moving again.
We offer expert collaborative care from skilled physicians and physical therapists specializing in athletic injuries and illnesses. Our fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons offer a full range of treatments, from minimally invasive approaches to leading-edge surgical techniques for injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. We also provide sideline sports medicine services for a number of local high schools and athletic events.
Our focus depends on the athlete’s needs and wants. Sometimes that means working on safety, injury prevention, and enhancing performance. With acute or chronic illness or injury, we always start with minimally invasive approaches such as physical therapy, exercise prescription, and pain management. If surgery becomes necessary, we offer a broad range of procedures, including:
- Hip arthroscopy
- Femoral acetabular impingement (FAI) treatment
- ACL reconstruction
- Shoulder arthroscopy
- Rotator cuff tear repair
- Elbow arthroscopy
- Tennis elbow treatment
- Ankle arthroscopy
