    Mohammed Al Janabi, MD, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

    After graduation from the medical school in 2003, Dr. Al Janabi completed two-year Internship in a tertiary center at which he rotated in a various medical and surgical subspecialties. In addition, he spent long hours on duty on a weekly basis in the emergency department throughout those two years.

    He also worked with the Red Cross in a field hospital-burn unit and later he had two more years of training in internal medicine where he worked closely with pulmonologist-intensivist. “I was exposed to pulmonary and critical care medicine and I found my interest in this specialty where I can use my internal medicine knowledge with a background of surgical skills“. With this overseas post-graduate experience, he was motivated and decided to peruse a pulmonary critical care subspecialty.

    In 2014, Dr. Al Janabi finished internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he served as a chief resident. He then completed a fellowship program at East Carolina University-Brody School of Medicine/Vidant Medical Center in pulmonary and critical care.

    Dr. Al Janabi is interested in the treatment and management of diverse clinical conditions in pulmonary and critical care medicine including but not limited to shock, sepsis, respiratory failure, COPD, interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. He enjoys working with and teaching resident-physicians to train excellent future physicians.

    Since many of his patients come to him by way of emergency incidents and they are in complicated conditions, Dr. Al Janabi recognizes that good communication with patients and their family is necessary for his patient’s ultimate interest.

    “I was my parent’s advocate when both of my parents were in hospital, I know exactly what the patients and their family go through in the course of illness, so I do my best to support them, l give them all the possible options and make a shared decision to give the best care.”
