The program consists of exercise sessions, educational classes, and nutrition consults and is supervised by an expert inter-professional team of Registered Nurses, Exercise Physiologists, and a Registered Dietician to help you reach your health goals.
Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive program that is tailored to each person’s specific needs. Following completion of an initial admission assessment, each participant will have an Individualized Treatment Plan established to individualize their cardiac rehab care. Your plan will consist of input from your physician and your needs as identified by the cardiac rehab team.
In our cardiac rehab program at Eisenhower Health, you will participate two to three days per week for a one hour session each day. Your program may last 8 to 12 weeks based on your individual plan of care. Exercises programs are individually designed and progressed based on your physical abilities and limitations. Our team will be constantly monitoring your heart rate, heart rhythm, and blood pressure during exercise to ensure that you are exercising safely within the exercise prescription ordered by your physician.
In addition to exercise sessions, weekly educational classes are provided. Topics covered in these classes include medication management, nutrition, risk factors, stress management, exercise principles, and anatomy and physiology of the heart. Attendance of these classes is a mandatory part of the program.
There are many benefits to participating in a cardiac rehab program, including:
