The ACS CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards for cancer care.
CoC accreditation is granted to cancer programs that demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care through compliance with rigorous, nationally recognized standards. Each accredited program undergoes a comprehensive evaluation and on-site review every three years to assess performance and adherence to these standards. The CoC accreditation framework ensures patients have access to a full continuum of cancer services - including prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and survivorship support - either on-site or through coordinated referrals and community-based resources.
“Achieving Commission on Cancer accreditation reflects the dedication of our multidisciplinary teams and reinforces our promise to deliver comprehensive, coordinated, and compassionate cancer care,” says Katie Schnaser, MHA, FACHE, Chief Administrative Officer, Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center. “This recognition affirms that our patients receive care that meets the highest national standards - from diagnosis through survivorship - close to home, supported by leading-edge technology, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to quality and safety.”
As a long-standing Commission on Cancer-accredited program, Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center continues to be recognized as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. This designation signifies the organization’s ongoing commitment to evaluating and improving surgical outcomes, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and fostering continuous performance improvement across all aspects of surgical care. For patients, the Surgical Quality Partner designation provides confidence that their care meets the highest benchmarks for surgical excellence and safety.
“ACS Quality Programs are grounded in more than a century of experience, and participation is an important measure of a hospital’s surgical quality,” says Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Surgeons. “As an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing the best possible patient care, evaluating that care rigorously, and dedicating itself to continuous self-improvement.”
